President's Message

Hello IMA Texas Regional Council members and potential members,

I am honored to serve as President of the IMA Texas Regional Council for 2022-23. Our membership encompasses accounting and finance professionals who are dedicated to our profession, faculty who are committed to educating the future of our profession, and students who represent that future. So, I am excited to volunteer alongside a group that is sincerely interested in providing opportunities for others to enrich their careers through continuing education, networking, and leadership opportunities.
I encourage members to take advantage of chapter activities. I am reminded of Brain Tracy’s quote: “Practice the philosophy of continuous improvement. Get a little bit better every single day.” Chapters provide excellent continuing education programs and valuable networking events. These continuing education programs engage experts to share their knowledge of topics and experience across business settings. Plus, local chapters are the stepping stones to building a professional network that will benefit you throughout your career.

At the global level, IMA also has tremendous resources to support members and their goal of continuous improvement. I encourage all members to take advantage of these resources for both personal and professional growth.

As we celebrate the CMA’s 50th year, I also encourage you pursue the certification opportunities at IMA, both the CMA and CSCA. These certifications validate mastery of accounting and finance content and skills.

Finally, in the year ahead, the Council will be developing a strategic plan focused on better serving our membership. I am excited to hear your ideas and thoughts in support of enhancing the Council’s activities and benefiting our members.
